Established in 1948, the Army Sustainment Command Packaging, Storage, and Containerization Center (ASC PSCC), has provided logistics support to the Soldier for more than a half-century. PSCC has a staff of globally recognized professionals that provide premier distribution and testing solutions.
PSCC is the US Army Materiel Command (AMC) Responsible Office for HAZMAT packaging policy and procedures, and is the AMC liaison with Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA), and the Department of Defense (DoD) for HAZMAT. We develop HAZMAT policy recommendations that are used by HQDA in formulating DA and DoD policy. We also provide technical guidance to Army Major Subordinate Commands, and commands/units of the Active Army, Army Reserve, and National Guard on behalf of HQDA and AMC.
PSCC provides worldwide technical and staff assistance in the transport, packaging, and storage of HAZMAT. We can answer your questions about packaging, marking, labeling, placarding, compatibility, HAZMAT certification documents, and the interface and relationship between Army policy and the various national and international regulatory documents.
We review and approve Programs of Instruction for formal HAZMAT packaging and handling, and transportation training courses for DoD and contractor personnel. We can review your HAZMAT training records and help you understand what training you are actually required to have to maintain compliance with both statutory Department of Transportation (DOT) and regulatory (DoD) HAZMAT documents. We can also extend HAZMAT training recertification requirements as authorized by the Defense Transportation Regulation and TM 38-250, Preparing Hazardous Materials for Military Air Shipments.
PSCC provides guidance and on-site assessment of your HAZMAT packaging and transportation program to ensure your materiel is properly prepared and documented for deployments or just everyday movement.
